Community Organizations Join Together to Fight Senior Hunger

In partnership with the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eau Claire County and Meals on Wheels, Feed My People Food Bank will distribute emergency food boxes to 450 local seniors in need. Distribution of the boxes to volunteer drivers will occur on Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Feed My People with delivery to seniors occurring later in the week.

Although food insecurity affects people of all ages, seniors are particularly vulnerable. Many have unique nutritional needs related to aging and/or medical conditions and often have limited income and out-of-pocket medical expenses. In addition many seniors are homebound making it difficult to receive help from food-assistance programs in our area.

With widespread community support, Feed My People and Meals on Wheels of Eau Claire County are working to ensure that seniors in need are provided with nutritious food. Together, we can provide hope to seniors and families struggling with hunger.
