Area Students Make 9th Annual Stuff-A-Truck a Great Success
For the ninth consecutive year, the Eau Claire Area School District in partnership with Gordy’s County Market organized a large food and fund drive which benefited Feed My People Food Bank. The food drive was held throughout October and concluded during the second week of November.
This year’s Stuff-A-Truck brought in over $1,700 and 7,300 pounds of food to the food bank, enough to provide more than 13,300 meals. The food and funds will be used to support Feed My People’s partner hunger-relief agencies.
Each school in the ECASD participated in Stuff-A-Truck, making it an uniquely educational food drive for area students.
“Our kids worked very hard to raise hunger awareness by collecting food and money,” said Suzanne Becker, assistant director at Feed My People. “Their efforts will make the holidays brighter for many families in our community.”
