As the only food bank in west central Wisconsin, Feed My People distributes 7.3 million pounds a year to local agencies. We are a cost effective way to provide pantries, community tables, and shelters enough food so thousands of people can be helped each month.
Ribbon Cutting Event Draws Together Community
A ribbon cutting event with the Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls Chambers was held on October 24th at 3:00 p.m. to celebrate the completion of Feed My People Food Bank's $3 million building expansion project. Over 175 members of the public attended. SDS Architects and Market & Johnson were named Feed My People's 2019 Organizations of the Year for their significant contribution to the building expansion campaign.
In the two to three weeks prior to the 24th, the food bank had already received 21,250 pounds of bulk dry cereal for repack from Second Harvest Heartland. In the two days since the ribbon cutting Feed My People has received seven major truckloads of product for a total of more than 127,000 pounds of food! It is directly because of the expansion that the food bank is able to now take in so much more food and distribute it to its hunger-relief partners across west central Wisconsin.
Feed My People Food Bank successfully completed its $3 million capital campaign goal recently with a generous $100,000 donation from the Pablo Foundation. The campaign, known as Feeding Healthy Futures, was designed to position the organization to meet the rising need for food in west central Wisconsin.
