As the only food bank in west central Wisconsin, Feed My People distributes 7.3 million pounds a year to local agencies. We are a cost effective way to provide pantries, community tables, and shelters enough food so thousands of people can be helped each month.

New Year's Inspiration

It's that time of year again! Thinking about drawing up your annual list of New Year's Resolutions? We came up with our own twist on some of the more common resolutions you might make. Check it out for some extra inspiration.

1. Volunteer

Roll up your sleeves and make a difference this new year. There are tons of every day volunteer opportunities all around you. Check out this growing list of places to volunteer at right here in the Chippewa Valley. We have a ton of volunteer opportunities here at the food bank as well. Contact Nick (nick@fmpfoodbank.org) to get started today.

2. Be thankful

Make a thankful jar. Start by decorating a jar. Have family members write down what they are most thankful for that day. Then pick a date to read all the thankfulness notes and reflect on them as a family. Repeat this once a month.

3. Travel to new places

Did you know there is at least one food bank in every state? If you're dreaming about traveling somewhere new this year, be sure to check out their local food bank. It's a chance to connect with great people in an unfamiliar place in a meaningful way. Use this link to find a food bank wherever you're traveling in the States.

4. Learn something new

Make this a crafty year! There are a ton of different crafting and making workshops in the area, so you don't have to just rely on YouTube. Check them out here. Another idea? Email susie@fmpfoodbank.org to receive notification when our next bowl painting party is scheduled. That way, you can have another creative outlet and help a great cause! All decorated bowls will be donated to our annual Empty Bowls event to raise funds for ending hunger in west central Wisconsin.
