New Summer Pop-Ups

Now that summer is here, the issue of hunger has become more pronounced for vulnerable individuals and families. While schools play a crucial role in providing meals during the academic year, the absence of these programs during summer vacation leaves many struggling to access nutritious food.

Feed My People (FMP) organizes pop-up food pantries in various locations throughout the community. These temporary distribution sites bring a wide range of food items, including fresh produce, pantry staples, and perishable goods, directly to neighborhoods in need. By setting up these pop-up pantries, FMP increases access to nutritious meals and helps alleviate the burden of food insecurity during the summer months.

If you know of someone who is struggling and could use the extra food, use our Find Food Navigator to discover food resources in your area.

New Pop-Ups This Summer

The Eau Claire pop-up has been expanded to include a second event in the evening for a total of four opportunities every month. These free grocery distribution events are available to anyone in need, and the evening hours help make it possible for more families to access them.

The new evening distribution will take place at FMP as well on the second and fourth Mondays from 5-6:30 pm. Upcoming dates include June 26, July 10 and 24, and August 14 and 28.

Our pop-up distribution at FMP will continue to run every second and fourth Friday from 10-11:30 am (2610 Alpine Road, Eau Claire). Upcoming distribution dates are June 23, July 14 and 28, and August 11 and 25.

The twice-monthly Pop-Up Pantry in Chippewa Falls is continuing throughout the summer with expanded hours. Distribution takes place 9:30-11 am on the first and third Fridays in the parking lot of Our Saviour's Church (1300 Mansfield St). Scheduled dates include June 16, July 7 and 21, and August 4 and 18.

In partnership with Y on the Fly, a free program for children to encourage healthy play run by the YMCA, a second weekly pop-up will take place at Parkview Elementary in Chippewa Falls every Thursday. It is available to anyone in need and will run from 10:30 am-12 pm June 15-August 24.

Additional Pop-Ups are also starting up in rural Sawyer County. Every second Wednesday, a pop-up will travel from Weyerhaeuser to Radisson to Winter. The next pop-up in these locations is scheduled for July 12 and August 9 at 10-11 am (Village Hall, N3723 2nd St, Weyerhaeuser), 12-1 pm (Pavilion by Village Hall, 10598 W Railroad St, Radisson), and 2-3 pm (Winter High School, 6585 Grove St, Winter).

FMP's pop-up food pantries are essential resources in the fight against summer hunger. By bringing nutritious food directly to communities in need, they ensure that individuals and families have access to meals during the summer months. Alongside their summer meal programs, FMP plays a crucial role in alleviating hunger and promoting food security. However, their efforts are only made possible through the support of volunteers, donors, and the community. Together, we can work to end summer hunger!
