How can you help?

Involve Your
Business

Big or small, businesses help combat hunger in innovative ways including volunteering as a group, sponsoring events and donating the proceeds, or encouraging their employees to donate and matching the contributions.

Events can generate media coverage reaching those in our community and helping raise awareness. By making your company's commitment to ending hunger visible, you help show others the importance of service in your own community. What better impact can you make?

"As a retired teacher, volunteering at Feed My People gives me a chance to continue my commitment to helping children. A bonus to volunteering has been meeting wonderful new friends."
- Weekend Kids' Meal Packer

Our programs depend on volunteers. Whether that help comes from a group once a year, or from volunteers that make a weekly commitment, their work is essential in helping food get out to our hungry neighbors. We had over 23,000 hours of volunteer work last year alone. Together we can do more!

Food Bank Volunteer Opportunities

Feed My People welcomes volunteers during business hours, five days a week. We look forward to working with volunteers Monday-Thursday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM and Fridays from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. Additionally, we offer evening shifts on Wednesday and Thursday from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. We ask that all volunteers contact the Volunteer Coordinator in advance to schedule their volunteer shift.

Open Volunteer Night

Thursday, December 8th
4 PM

Come volunteer and learn more about your area food bank! Volunteers can expect to help repack bulk food items such as pasta or cereal or help label cans. Activities are kid-friendly and children as young as 5 are welcome to volunteer with a parent. There will be two shifts - one from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and the other from 5:30 to 7 p.m. - to choose from. For more information or to sign up, contact us at Maggie@fmpfoodbank.org or 715-835-9415 ext. 101.

Warehouse and Driving Volunteers Needed!

Our warehouse volunteers help to fill orders for our partner programs by making sure they are able to receive the food they requested. Volunteers should be comfortable lifting 40 pounds on a regular basis.

Our truck driving volunteers help to make sure that the food that has been packed and is ready to go actually gets delivered.  Volunteer drivers do not need any special licensing, just a valid driver license, but should be comfortable driving larger vehicles.

For more information about either of these opportunities please contact Maggie at Maggie@fmpfoodbank.org.

Individuals

Individual volunteers drive our trucks, repack bulk food, assist with office work, pack weekend meals for kids, sort food donations, and fill orders. Opportunities are available for adults, youth, and children age eight and older. Those under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
Schedule a volunteer orientation with Maggie Fischer to get started. Due to safety concerns, volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes at our facility.
Are one of these your employer?

Groups

Great team-building opportunities are available for businesses, churches, schools, community organizations, and youth organizations. Volunteer groups repack bulk food, sort food donations, and pack weekend meals for kids. We can accommodate groups of up to 15 volunteers depending on age.
Contact Maggie Fischer to schedule a group. Due to safety concerns, volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes at our facility.
