As the only food bank in west central Wisconsin, Feed My People distributes 150,000+ pounds of food a week and 7.5 million pounds a year to local agencies. We are a cost effective way to provide pantries, community tables, and shelters enough food so thousands of people can be helped each month.
Growing up in rural Iowa, I got an early
lesson about hunger from my parents.
They quietly delivered food and fuel to a family who was down on its luck.
One of the children was my classmate. No big fuss was made. It was a kind act to benefit neighbors. Over time I learned how the church and other non-profits provide emergency disaster relief (including food) both domestically and internationally. It's easy to give to disasters far away but so important to recognize needs in our own communities.
I have been involved with Feed My People since the beginning when six of us gathered at a round table in the First Lutheran Church lounge to discuss hunger in our community. There's been a tremendous growth over the last 35 years but FMP has stayed true to its mission of feeding the hungry and continue to do it in an efficient and accountable way. That's why it is so important to all of west central Wisconsin!

including the Load-A-Truck Community Fundraiser and Empty Bowls. Her late husband Don was one of the first FMP volunteer drivers.
