The Board of Directors of Feed My People Food Bank (FMP), Eau Claire is pleased to announce that Suzanne Becker has been promoted as the new executive director. She takes over for Nancy Renkes who assumed the post in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, steering the organization's response to increased need. Nancy has accepted a position as president and chief executive officer at River Bend Food Bank in Davenport, Iowa.
"Having been a part of Feed My People for the past decade, I am proud to work with such a dedicated team of people," said Suzanne. "I am honored to step into this new role to further grow our outreach and encourage continued innovation to ensure our kids, seniors, and families have the food they need to live healthy lives."
For 15 years, Suzanne has led efforts to feed our neighbors in need in Eau Claire and surrounding communities. Her most recent role was serving for ten years as assistant director at FMP, and she previously managed one of its largest partner agencies, Trinity Food Pantry, for five years.
"Feed My People is in great hands," shared Nancy. "Her proven ability to collaborate and inspire action among donors, hunger relief partners, volunteers, and staff is evident in the many contributions she has made over the years."
"Suzanne's 15 years of combined non-profit leadership and hunger relief insight has poised her to bring a wealth of skills and passion into her new role as executive director," said John Satre, president of FMP's Board of Directors. "We believe she is well-suited to continue growing Feed My People's mission of working to end hunger in its 14-county service area."
Suzanne will become the fifth director in Feed My People's 40-year history effective immediately. Nancy is working closely together with her to ensure a smooth transition.
