Summer Hunger Campaign Raises $100,000

Operation Picnic, Feed My People's summer hunger campaign that ran during the month of June, has successfully raised $100,000 to directly help families in need of food this summer. This month-long campaign was made possible due to Otto Bremer Trust's matching gift of $50,000.

People from the community stepped up and helped make sure that every dollar of that gift was matched so that families in need this summer would have maximum support.

Funds raised from this campaign has helped make the following new initiatives possible this summer:

  • - Six new Pop-Up Pantry sites delivering groceries to families in under-served areas including Eau Claire, Augusta, and Cadott.
  • - Eight new or expanded programs reaching seniors, kids, and home-bound individuals with meal delivery including partnerships with area schools and expanded crisis outreach programming with Eau Claire County.
  • - Five new food pantry partners and an increase of 30 delivery routes to make sure our hunger-relief partners have the food they need for their guests.

If you missed out on supporting Operation Picnic, you can always help fuel healthy futures for your neighbors when you donate to Feed My People online. You may also mail or deliver a check to the food bank at 2610 Alpine Road, Eau Claire.
