Since 2004, Feed My People (FMP) and its board of directors have selected a standout organization or...
On Giving Tuesday, November 28, Governor Tony Evers stopped by for an official tour and visit at Feed My People.
FMP staff led Evers and other government officials, including State Representative Jodi Emerson, State Senator Jeff Smith, and Eau Claire City Council President Emily Berge, throughout the facility, including the Hunger Action Center.
At the end of the tour, Evers stepped into the clean room to help pack cereal for distribution to local community food pantries and school markets. Afterwards he thanked the other volunteers individually who were working alongside him.
"It's just amazing to think about all the good things that happen here and happen all across Northwest Wisconsin," said Evers.
The visit also marked the conclusion of the ThankFULL Project campaign, which successfully raised over $100,000 in addition to the matching funds donated by the Ulrich Trust.
In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, the world's largest day of annual giving generosity, Evers remarked, "These people save lives. It's as simple as that. In order to make that happen, the whole community has to get together."
