As the only food bank in west central Wisconsin, Feed My People distributes 7.3 million pounds a year to local agencies. We are a cost effective way to provide pantries, community tables, and shelters enough food so thousands of people can be helped each month.

Stand Against Hunger this September

 Stand Against Hunger

Hunger Action Month™ (HAM) is the Feeding America network's nationwide awareness campaign designed to mobilize the public to take action on the issue of hunger. Feed My People will be promoting HAM all September, and we are inviting you to join with us by taking a stand against hunger by volunteering, giving or connecting to our mission of ending hunger in west central Wisconsin.

We have also organized a special Hunger Action Day on September 14th in coordination with United Way of the Chippewa Valley's Day of Caring. Because orange represents hunger awareness, each of the 900+ United Way  volunteers at 40+ nonprofits will be wearing orange shirts. Over 150 of these volunteers will be repackaging food specifically for Feed My People to distribute to all of our partners. Additionally, you can go and enjoy the view at Phoenix Park Bridge in Eau Claire, which will be lighted orange from 5 to 11 p.m. that evening and 5 a.m. to sunrise the following morning.

We have volunteer opportunities including repacking food, picking orders to get product ready for hunger-relief agencies, doing some light office duties, driving trucks and more. Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Nick, at 715-835-9415 x101 or nick@fmpfoobank.org to learn more and get started! Learn more about volunteering at FMP here

If you are inspired to give, thank you in advance and know that your dollars make a big difference. Over 70,000 residents living in Feed My People's 14 county service area (including 25,000 children) rely on food supplied by the food bank. We are a cost effective way to provide food pantries, community meal sites, and shelters with enough food so thousands of people can be helped each month. Donate online here or call Amanda at 715-835-9415 x103 to learn more.

  • Go orange all month. Post a picture of your group wearing orange and describe how you're taking a stand against hunger. Tag @fmpfoodbank to join the conversation and add #StandAgainstHunger and #HungerActionMonth. Encourage others to do the same.
  • Stay up-to-date by visiting fmpfoodbank.org and follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).

Together, we can inspire people to play their part in the stand against hunger. We are grateful for your support of our mission to end hunger in west central Wisconsin.
