Giving Tuesday for Weekend Kids' Meals

Giving Tuesday

Feed My People is taking part in Giving Tuesday this year to find 300 Weekend Kids' Meals sponsors. The Pablo Foundation has kicked off this goal with a match to be met one day only on December 3. Together, with your help, this $25,000 goal can be met to ensure more local students receive weekend nutrition. Learn more here.

40% of children in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls rely on free and reduced lunches at school, which means they often rely on Weekend Kids' Meals as well. Local churches and businesses annually sponsor 1,000 students, and 797 more are needed for this school year. Our goal to find 300 sponsors in one day will help 36 local schools in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls who have students dependent on Weekend Kids' Meals. Sponsoring a child for $85 will ensure they receive a bag each weekend that contains enough food for four meals, two pieces of fresh fruit and a fresh vegetable, healthy snacks and milk.

For children whose families are already struggling, you can help make sure that weekend meal time is worry-free.  Give the gift of weekend meals this Giving Tuesday by giving online, calling in, or mailing in a donation. Follow us on social media and our website to get live updates as together we ensure every child has meals over the weekend in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls. Just be sure to include 'Giving Tuesday' in your memo. Early donations are always accepted.

Giving Tuesday is a global gift giving movement designed to raise funds for nonprofits. During the holiday season, this coordinated effort means more people become aware of this cause and are encouraged to give to their favorite nonprofit.
